Ravens Hold Off Cowboys’ Late Push for a Thrilling Win

The Baltimore Ravens secured an important victory over the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Sunday, managing to maintain their lead throughout the game.

Baltimore (1-2) took charge early, extending their lead as the second quarter progressed, while Dallas (1-2) sought to recover from a disappointing performance in Week 2. The Cowboys went into halftime trailing 21-6.

Lamar Jackson began the game strong, completing 10 of 11 passes for 161 yards and one touchdown before finishing with 12 completions in 15 attempts for a total of 182 yards. In contrast, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense struggled, failing to score a touchdown in the first half. A late surge in the fourth quarter saw Dallas score 19 points, narrowing the gap to a one-score game.

Despite the Cowboys’ efforts, Jackson and the Ravens effectively ran down the clock, resulting in Dallas suffering a second consecutive loss at home. Prescott concluded the game with 28 completions out of 51 attempts for 379 yards and two touchdowns.

As the fourth quarter progressed, the momentum shifted significantly toward the Cowboys. After being largely contained, Dallas managed to score three touchdowns on consecutive drives. This included a 16-yard touchdown pass from Prescott to wide receiver KaVontae Turpin, bringing the score to 28-25 in favor of the Ravens.

Earlier in the fourth quarter, Dallas began their comeback by recovering an onside kick and driving down the field for a touchdown. Prescott connected with Jalen Tolbert for a 15-yard touchdown, although an attempt at a two-point conversion was unsuccessful, leaving the score at 28-18.

The Cowboys finally found the end zone earlier in the fourth quarter with a one-yard touchdown run from Prescott, followed by another unsuccessful two-point conversion, which cut the lead to 28-12.

Despite the challenges faced in the first half, where they appeared overmatched and struggled defensively, the Cowboys managed to add some points with kicker Brandon Aubrey’s field goal, shaving the Ravens’ lead down to 21-6 at halftime.

In the first quarter, Dallas’s early offensive struggles persisted, as they allowed Jackson and the Ravens to dominate the field, resulting in a series of scoring drives. Notably, Aubrey achieved a franchise record with a 65-yard field goal, falling just one yard short of the league record.

The final match-up highlighted the Cowboys’ need to rebound from previous performances as they continue through the season. The ongoing struggles of the defense and offensive cohesiveness leave Dallas looking to improve if they hope to avoid falling further behind in the standings.
