MAX Aarons is optimistic that the Rangers squad can harness their recent form as they prepare for a significant clash in the UEFA Europa League against Ferencváros in Budapest. As the competition enters its final three matches of the league phase, this fixture is critical for Danny Röhl’s side.

During a pre-match press conference, Aarons acknowledged the importance of a strong performance, saying, “It is going to take a big performance, we are going to need bits from the game on Saturday, the confidence, and we need to be strong defensively.” He noted that there were positive aspects in the first-half performance against Braga that the team can build on, while also emphasizing the need to create more offensive opportunities as a collective.

Aarons, who joined Rangers on a season-long loan from Bournemouth this summer, expressed that he is regaining his rhythm following the arrival of the new coaching staff, which he believes will further enhance his game. “Since the new manager has come in, it has been great and I feel really confident. I feel like I am building in a good direction, especially with my own performances, but I am still looking to push and improve as well.”

He mentioned how the new coach has provided targeted feedback on improving his gameplay, particularly in attacking positions. The full-back expressed a sense of encouragement from the trust established between him and the coaching staff. “It feels really good, and like I said, it is about putting that into performances and keeping on building because I think we have a way to go to reach our best level.”

Reflecting on the team’s progression, Aarons acknowledged that while the start of the season was challenging, recent league results have been promising. He voiced the desire for the team to maintain this momentum, especially with critical games like the upcoming one against Ferencváros.

He also praised teammate Mikey Moore, who recently made a comeback from injury to score at Rugby Park, asserting that the overall confidence in the squad is on the rise. “Mikey has been very good. Since the new manager has come in, the team has been more settled, and he has been great. It was disappointing he got injured, but his performance upon returning shows just how much potential he has. Hopefully, many players can build on their confidence now.”

Rangers will be looking to capitalize on their recent successes as they gear up for the challenge ahead, with the full support of their squad behind them.
