Ralph Lauren Returns as Official US Team Designer for Winter Games Opening Ceremony

Ralph Lauren Preps 10th Team USA Uniforms for Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony

Ralph Lauren is once again set to provide the uniforms for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams, marking the tenth occasion the brand has taken on this prestigious role. At the upcoming Winter Games, the athletes will showcase a unique Italian-inspired aesthetic during the Opening Ceremony.

Evan Bates, a three-time Olympian and current world champion in ice dancing, shared his enthusiasm for the new uniforms, stating, “Every time we get the kit, it’s maybe the most exciting part of the Olympic experience, pulling on the Opening Ceremony outfit.”

As Team USA athletes gather at San Siro Stadium in Milan, they will be dressed in a striking winter-white wool coat featuring Team USA-engraved wooden toggles, complemented by a turtleneck sweater adorned with the American flag and stylish wool trousers.

Ralph Lauren’s collaboration with Team USA began during the 2008 Beijing Games, where the brand introduced its iconic preppy style inspired by the 1920s and ’30s. This partnership has not only established a strong bond with athletes but has also significantly benefited the brand, evidenced by a notable increase in shares following the 2016 Rio Opening Ceremony.

David Lauren, Chief Branding and Innovation Officer, elaborated on the importance of this partnership, stating, “It’s an incredible opportunity. You get to work with the greatest athletes in the world.” This ongoing collaboration reflects Ralph Lauren’s dedication to American sports and the high anticipation surrounding the upcoming Winter Games.

The excitement around the U.S. team’s attire exemplifies the spirit of unity and national pride that accompanies the Olympic Games, promising a memorable showcase of athletic excellence combined with distinctive fashion.
