Jennifer Garner has had her fair share of action-packed roles in her career, but she recently recounted a particularly intense experience that took place while filming the 2007 movie, The Kingdom. During an Apple TV press day, the 53-year-old actress opened up about an unexpected incident in which she accidentally injured a stunt person.
Garner recalled a fight scene with stunt actor Sala Baker, where she found herself without clear choreography. She revealed that director Pete Berg instructed Baker to fight aggressively, saying, “He told him to try to kill me,” which led to a chaotic yet memorable encounter. As the scene unfolded, Garner instinctively scrambled onto Baker’s back and, in an impulsive moment, bit his ear. “We have a picture of him missing a chunk of ear,” she noted, humorously adding, “Like Mike Tyson,” and warning playfully, “Don’t make me mad. I seem nice. I’ve warned you before.”
Fortunately, Baker emerged from the incident unscathed, and the two later reunited on the set of Garner’s upcoming series, The Last Thing He Told Me. Reflecting on their reunion, Garner laughed about their intense fight scenes, noting the crew’s concern: “This was maybe our first or second day of shooting—were like, ‘Can you be careful with her?’ I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, he’s not going to be careful. I’m not going to be careful.’”
Throughout the season, viewers can look forward to witnessing several action sequences featuring Garner and Baker, adding another layer of excitement to the show. The trailer for The Last Thing He Told Me has sparked interest, as fans anticipate Garner’s formidable presence in yet another gripping role.
