Suva midfielder Malakai Rakula is set to return to the pitch for his former club, Suva FC, as they prepare for the FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) starting tomorrow. The 30-year-old has a rich football history, having begun his career with Suva before making notable impacts at Ba FC and Nadi FC, including participation in the OFC Champions League.
Rakula’s career highlights also include a call-up to the Fiji national team in 2019 and an international stint with Manukau United FC in New Zealand in 2020. His last game for Suva was during the 2022-2023 season, and his return is anticipated to add crucial leadership and tactical strength to the team.
As Suva takes on a formidable Group A, which includes defending champions Labasa, Lautoka, and Nadi, Rakula’s seasoned expertise will be pivotal in their campaign to advance further in the tournament.
The IDC will commence tomorrow at 1:30 PM in Ba. Fans can enjoy live commentary of all Super Premier Division matches on Radio Fiji Two.
This tournament presents an exciting opportunity for Suva FC to reclaim their former glory, bolstered by Rakula’s experience, which is expected to inspire the team and enhance their performance against tough rivals.
