On Monday, the 2nd, the weather across the country is forecasted to be overcast with rain expected. In Jeju Island, rain is anticipated to start from early morning, while the southern coastal areas of Jeolla Province will experience rainfall in the morning, and the rest of the southern regions will see rain beginning in the afternoon. There is a possibility of rain in the southern parts of Gangwon and in Chungcheongnam-do, as well as in Chungcheongbuk-do, starting in the evening.

Over the next two days, it is expected that Jeju Island will receive between 20 to 60 millimeters of rain, while the southern coastal areas of Jeolla and Busan, along with Gyeongsangnam-do, will see 5 to 30 millimeters. The inland regions of Gwangju, Jeollanam-do (excluding the southern coast), Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Daegu are expected to receive 5 to 20 millimeters, and regions like Gangwon-do, Daejeon, Sejong, southern Chungcheongnam-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Jeollabuk-do will likely have 5 to 10 millimeters of rain.

Morning temperatures are predicted to range from 14 to 18 degrees Celsius, while the afternoon highs are expected to be between 19 to 25 degrees. Overall, fine dust levels are expected to be from “good” to “moderate” across the nation, although parts of Seoul and southern Gyeonggi may experience briefly high levels classified as “bad” in the morning.

On the seas surrounding the southern coast and Jeju Island, strong winds and potential thunderstorms are forecasted, raising awareness for maritime safety during this period. Wave heights in the near seas of the East, West, and South will range from 0.5 to 1.5 meters, while in deeper waters, wave heights are expected to reach up to 2.0 meters in the East Sea, 3.0 meters in the West Sea, and 2.5 meters in the South Sea.

Looking at the regional weather, it appears that Seoul, Incheon, Suwon, Chuncheon, and Gangneung will maintain cloudy conditions. In Cheongju, Daejeon, and Sejong, cloudy skies are expected with intermittent rain possible. The same rainy conditions are anticipated in Jeonju, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan, Ulsan, and Changwon, with Jeju Island predicted to see rain throughout the entire day.

This pending rainfall could greatly benefit areas in need of moisture, especially for agricultural regions, fostering a sense of hope for improved growth and replenishment of local water sources.
