CHARLOTTE, N.C. – As temperatures begin to rise again, residents of the Carolinas should prepare for multiple rounds of rain impacting the region this week.

The weather forecast indicates that the cooler air from the northeast, along with rain from a stationary front to the south, will influence the start of the work week. Tonight, light rain is expected, with temperatures dipping into the 60s. Most of Monday will see partly sunny skies, with daytime highs reaching the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. However, light rain is forecasted to move into the Charlotte metro area by Monday afternoon, continuing into the evening.

The unsettled weather is projected to persist from Tuesday through Friday as a series of upper-level disturbances affect the Carolinas. Tuesday will likely bring scattered showers and thunderstorms, with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Similar weather is expected on Wednesday, including a chance for isolated storms in the afternoon and highs in the lower 80s.

By Thursday and Friday, the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon will continue, alongside partly sunny conditions and highs in the low to mid-80s. Looking ahead to next weekend, forecasts suggest a warm-up, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and potential afternoon storms, giving a feel more akin to summer than early fall.
