Pacific Games triple gold medallist Taniela Rainibogi is on the path to recovery following an injury he sustained two months ago. As he prepares to represent his country, Rainibogi expresses that he is ready to give his best effort in 2024.

Looking ahead to a busy 2026 calendar for Weightlifting Fiji, Rainibogi identifies the Commonwealth Games as the major event he is eager to participate in. He made his return to competition at the National Championships recently, demonstrating noticeable improvement in his performance.

Rainibogi also commended the development of younger lifters within the team over the past two months. Their rapid progress boosts his confidence as he gears up for the upcoming season. “Next year will be quite busy for us, and everyone is diligently working towards their respective goals. My main focus is on the Commonwealth Games,” he stated, highlighting his commitment to excellence.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude towards head coach Henry Elder for his unwavering dedication to the team and the sport, attributing much of his own development and success as a weightlifter to Elder’s guidance and support. Rainibogi’s enthusiasm and determination showcase his readiness to compete at a high level, inspiring both younger athletes and fans of the sport.
