The 2026 season has come to an early end for Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, as the team has decided to place him on injured reserve ahead of their upcoming game against the New York Giants. According to reports from NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, Bowers sustained a knee injury during Week 1 and although he managed to play through it for several weeks, he missed three games in October. With the Raiders struggling at 2-13, the decision has been made to prioritize his health and focus on preparations for the next season.

During his time on the field this year, Bowers recorded 64 receptions for 680 yards and found the end zone seven times. His performance showcased significant promise for the future.

Additionally, safety Jeremy Chinn will also be placed on injured reserve due to a recurring back issue. Chinn has been a solid contributor, amassing 114 tackles, a sack, and two forced fumbles while starting all 15 games this season.

The loss of these key players presents a challenge for the Raiders as they look to face the Giants this week, followed by a matchup against the Chiefs in the final game of the season. As they navigate the remainder of the season, there is a silver lining; if the Raiders finish the season without further wins, they will secure the first overall pick in the 2026 draft, presenting an opportunity for a fresh start and new talent. The focus now shifts to how the team can rebuild and come back stronger in the upcoming season.
