A man was removed from the Dubai Tennis Championships after exhibiting troubling behavior toward British tennis player Emma Raducanu, according to the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). The incident occurred when the man approached Raducanu in a public area before being spotted in the front rows during her second-round match against Karolina Muchova on Tuesday.
Raducanu visibly distressed at the start of the match, approached the umpire to explain the situation. After taking a moment to compose herself, she took refuge behind the umpire’s chair until the man was escorted away from the venue. The WTA has stated that the individual will be banned from all WTA events pending a thorough threat assessment, emphasizing that player safety is their top priority.
