Fans eagerly anticipating next year’s Coachella music festival will be thrilled to learn that Radiohead has planned a special installation for the event. Meanwhile, the iconic British band made headlines this month by reuniting for a remarkable series of four sold-out performances at The O2 Arena in London.
These concerts set a new attendance record for the venue, previously held by the legendary band Metallica since 2017. According to Billboard, Radiohead’s shows took place on November 21, 22, 24, and 25, each attracting over 22,200 fans, with the final concert reaching an impressive 22,355 attendees as confirmed by The O2’s social media.
Christian D’Acuna, the senior programming director at The O2, remarked on the significance of these performances, stating, “These past four record-breaking nights will go down in the venue’s history, with Radiohead breaking the attendance records each night.” He expressed gratitude to the band for delivering unforgettable performances with distinct setlists showcasing their extensive catalog.
The European tour began on November 4 in Madrid and includes stops throughout the U.K. and Europe, with concerts scheduled in cities like Bologna, Copenhagen, and Berlin. Notably, during one of their London shows, Radiohead stunned fans by performing “Like Spinning Plates” live for the first time, a track from their 2001 album Amnesiac. Additionally, the group revisited other fan-favorites such as “Kid A” and “Talk Show Host,” which they hadn’t played since 2018.
This remarkable tour reaffirms Radiohead’s enduring appeal and their ability to captivate audiences worldwide. As they continue to break records and deliver unforgettable experiences, fans can look forward to more memorable performances, including their highly anticipated appearance at Coachella.
