Yulia Putintseva voiced her frustrations regarding unsportsmanlike behavior she faced during her recent match, describing moments of disrespect that disrupted her focus. In a post-match press conference, she recounted instances where loud shouting occurred between her first and second serves, which she believed was intended to distract her and force mistakes.

“One instance was particularly frustrating,” she said. “It was a crucial point at 4-3. I had set up a great forehand shot when someone started coughing right as I was about to hit. I thought, ‘Okay, I’m not going to let this throw me off. I’m prepared to fight until the end.’”

Putintseva reflected on the divide in sportsmanship, noting that not everyone approaches tennis with the same level of understanding or respect. “It’s unfortunate that some fans don’t have the education or appreciation for the game,” she added.

Adding a light-hearted moment, the player also spoke about the unexpected soundtrack played during the match. Known for her love of pop music, including artists like Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, she was surprised to hear what she described as “a rabbit song” instead. “I really don’t know what to make of it!” she chuckled.

Putintseva’s determination and commitment to her game shine through her comments, highlighting both the challenges and the resilience required in competitive sports.
