Four prominent clubs from England’s Premier League have arrived in Chicago this week for the 2025 Summer Series, a unique event being held across three cities in the U.S.
On Wednesday, matches will take place at Soldier Field, starting with West Ham United facing Everton at 5:30 p.m., followed by Manchester United taking on AFB Bournemouth at 8:30 p.m. Fans can stream the event live on NBC 5.
Ahead of the matches, former players from West Ham and Manchester United, Anton Ferdinand and Johnathan Spector, made an appearance at NBC 5 studios. They unveiled West Ham’s new 2025-26 Third Kit, which features an Oxford Navy Blue design reflective of the team’s origins, complemented by gold trim. This marks a notable return to the oversized Hammers logo on the chest, paying homage to a design used decades ago.
Tickets for the matches are available through the Premier League website, with a single ticket granting access to both games. Fans also have the opportunity to engage in tailgating experiences, including meet-and-greets with former players. A tailgate event at the Guinness Open Gate Brewery will kick off prior to the matches, featuring live music and a procession to Soldier Field.
In terms of team performances, Manchester United, a globally recognized club, is looking to improve under new coach Ruben Amorim after finishing 15th last season, a stark contrast to their storied history. Bournemouth had a successful previous season, finishing ninth, while Everton is gearing up for a significant transition to their new stadium at Hill Dickinson later this year, bidding farewell to the iconic Goodison Park. West Ham, coming off a season where they finished 14th, looks to rebound after winning the Europa Conference League.
Tickets for the games are still available, with prices starting at $60 via Ticketmaster. The matches will also be broadcast live on NBC Sports, Peacock, and Sky Sports in the UK.
The Summer Series continues its schedule with more games planned for MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, culminating in an exciting conclusion that engages fans across the country.
This event not only highlights the growing popularity of soccer in the U.S. but also exemplifies the cross-cultural connections that major sports clubs can foster. With family-friendly activities and engaging experiences, the Summer Series promises to bring communities together in celebration of the sport.
