Signal Festival returns to Prague for its 13th edition with two major free projections and a program of immersive installations

Prague will again light up this autumn as the Signal Festival takes over the city from 16 to 19 October 2025. The event will feature two large-scale video mappings that will be freely accessible to all visitors, marking a notable expansion in the festival’s use of historic spaces.

For the first time, the tower façade of the Old Town Hall on Old Town Square will serve as a projection surface. The nearly 70-metre-high landmark will be transformed by OVERLOЯD, a monumental work created by Italian studio MammasONica, turning the historic structure into a dynamic play of data and emotion and offering two-sided projections that showcase how digital art can reinterpret architecture.

In a return after a three-year hiatus, the Basilica of St Ludmila at Náměstí Míru will host another major installation. Spanish audiovisual studio V.P.M. will present ITERACE – The Infinite Rhythm of the City, a fusion of futuristic forms with the neo-Gothic church façade. This year’s edition will introduce laser elements to heighten the projection’s intensity.

Alongside the free programme, Signal INSIDE returns with ticketed installations in seven locations across Prague’s centre. Visitors will have opportunities to engage with art in historically rich spaces, with many experiences offering interactive and immersive components. The large-scale immersive video mapping is among the highlights of Signal INSIDE.

Ticket information and pricing: tickets for Signal INSIDE go on sale today, 19 August. Early-bird offers include 1,000 tickets at reduced prices. Prices for the public programme are as follows:
– Day ticket: 290 CZK
– Festival pass for all days: 390 CZK
– VIP ticket: 1,690 CZK, which includes fast-lane entry, a Mercedes-Benz VIP shuttle, and access to official after-parties

Editorial notes and value add:
– The festival’s evolution to include the Old Town Hall tower as a projection surface emphasizes Prague’s role as a living canvas for contemporary digital art, bridging centuries of architecture with cutting-edge media.
– The return of St Ludmila’s Basilica and the use of laser elements signal a trend toward more dynamic, technologically integrated light shows in historic settings.
– For visitors planning to experience both free and ticketed works, the festival offers a mix of broad accessibility and curated intimate experiences, expanding opportunities to explore different corners of Prague’s city centre.

Summary: The 2025 Signal Festival broadens its footprint with a first-ever projection on the Old Town Hall tower and a returning installation at St Ludmila, alongside seven Signal INSIDE experiences. With affordable early-bird options and a range of accessible and premium experiences, Prague’s autumn cultural calendar is set to shine once again. The festival remains a hopeful showcase of how historic architecture can be reimagined through digital art, inviting both locals and travelers to view the city through a luminous new lens.
