The Powerball jackpot has soared to an impressive estimated $1 billion following Wednesday’s drawing, in which no one claimed the grand prize. The winning numbers drawn were 10, 16, 29, 33, 69, and the red Powerball number 22, with a Power Play multiplier of 3.

While the $930 million jackpot eluded all players during this drawing, three fortunate individuals did win $1 million each. These winning tickets were purchased in Maryland, Michigan, and New Jersey, as reported on Powerball’s official website. The next drawing, where the $1 billion jackpot will be up for grabs, is scheduled for Saturday.

This substantial jackpot has been building gradually over recent months, following the monumental $1.787 billion jackpot won in September, which ranks as the second-largest in Powerball history. The odds of winning the jackpot remain exceedingly low, with players facing approximately a 1 in 292.2 million chance. However, there are smaller prizes available, ranging from $4 to $1 million, that offer better odds.

The historic September jackpot was shared between winners in Texas and Missouri, who divided the enormous prize. Lottery enthusiasts across nearly all states, as well as Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, can participate by purchasing tickets for $2. However, five states—Alabama, Utah, Alaska, Hawaii, and Nevada—do not have a lottery due to various reasons, such as lobbying efforts and perceived lack of incentives.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. ET, creating excitement and anticipation among players nationwide. With the jackpot growing to such staggering heights, many look forward to the possibility of a life-changing win in the upcoming drawing.
