The post-mortem examination of the police officer found deceased in Lami on Sunday has been completed, with findings expected to be submitted to the investigation department. Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu is urging the community to respect the ongoing investigation, which has been surrounded by rumors and speculation about the circumstances of the officer’s death.

“We all want answers, and we have an investigation team, led by the Divisional Crime Officer Southern, working around the clock to piece together the circumstances leading up to the officer’s death,” stated Commissioner Tudravu. He emphasized the importance of allowing the investigation to unfold without interference, while reassuring the public that updates will be provided as new information becomes available.

Additionally, the commissioner addressed misinformation circulating on social media, particularly false claims regarding a second missing officer. He confirmed that the deceased officer was on a scheduled day off prior to reporting for duty on Sunday night, information that was already communicated to his superiors.

Commissioner Tudravu has called for public trust in the investigative process, highlighting the commitment of law enforcement to uncover the truth while maintaining the integrity of the inquiry. This appeal for patience and understanding underscores the significance of a proper investigation in achieving justice.
