Last November, Post Malone amazed audiences with his performance at the CMA Awards, paying tribute to the late country icon Joe Diffie alongside HARDY and Morgan Wallen. Backstage, he hinted at a long-anticipated project: a country album of his own.
That project has now come to fruition. Called F-1 Trillion, this marks Post’s debut in the country genre, produced by Charlie Handsome and Louis Bell. The album boasts collaborations with established artists such as Dolly Parton and Hank Williams Jr., as well as rising stars like Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll.
Since announcing the album, Post has made significant steps into the country scene, performing at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Cafe with Wilson and delivering a star-studded country covers set at Stagecoach this summer. He also joined Morgan Wallen on stage for their live debut of “I Had Some Help,” the lead single from F-1 Trillion. Additionally, the album includes collaborations with Blake Shelton on “Pour Me A Drink” and Luke Combs on “Guy For That.”
Post celebrated the album’s launch with a significant performance, making his Grand Ole Opry debut on August 14, during which he was joined by several collaborators from the album, including Wilson, Shelton, and Brad Paisley.
Earlier this year, Post reached another No. 1 as a feature on Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight,” and also collaborated with Beyoncé on the country-inspired track “LEVII’S JEANS” from her Cowboy Carter project.
Having charted 80 songs on the Hot 100, including six at No. 1, Post has consistently performed well on the Billboard 200, with all five of his albums reaching the top five, including two that landed at No. 1: 2018’s beerbongs & bentleys and 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding. Since 2022, he has released an album each year, starting with Twelve Carat Toothache, followed by Austin, and now F-1 Trillion.
In an update, Post Malone released nine additional tracks titled F-1 Trillion (Long Bed) on August 16. These solo tracks lean more towards traditional country, offering a deeper insight into his Texas roots. This collection acts as a fitting companion to the original album, appealing to those who enjoy honky tonk and western swing elements.
