Port Denarau came alive on New Year’s Eve as thousands of locals and tourists gathered to usher in 2026. Visitors traveled from various locations, including Sigatoka, to join in the festivities at the marina. Restaurants at the popular tourist hub extended their hours to accommodate the enthusiastic crowd celebrating the New Year.
Among the delighted attendees was Mukesh Chand, a 35-year-old father who journeyed from Lomawai with his family. “We wanted to celebrate New Year differently this year, so we decided to come to Port Denarau because we know they always have a New Year’s Eve party,” Chand expressed. “I hope to come again next year.”
