Herberth Motorsport secured its fourth triumph in the Hankook 24H Barcelona, finishing two laps ahead of Sainteloc Junior Team. The No. 91 Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Scott Noble, Ralf Bohn, Jason Hart, and Dustin Blattner, completed 738 laps, setting a new event distance record in what marked the 25th running of the race.
The Porsche team clinched victory after a competitive night where they exchanged leads with the No. 18 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, piloted by Michael Doppelmayr, Pierre Kaffer, Elia Erhart, Stephane Tribaudini, and Christer Joens. Poulsen Motorsport’s No. 14 BMW M4 GT3, driven by Kristian Poulsen, Roland Poulsen, Alfred Nilsson, and Jens Klingmann, secured the third spot on the overall podium.
The Danish team prevailed in a late-race showdown against the No. 9 Red Camel by Juta Racing Audi, which ended in fourth place. Hofor Racing’s No. 11 Mercedes-AMG GT3 rounded out the top five, managing to recover from an early suspension issue.
The Swiss team finished just ahead of Red Ant Racing, the winners of the 992 class in sixth place. Optimum Motorsport took seventh place despite not finishing the race, as their No. 4 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo suffered fuel pressure issues after starting from pole position.
Frederik Schandorff and his team initially built a lead of over 50 seconds but faced delays due to throttle pedal issues affecting Todd Coleman, Aaron Telitz, and Robert Megennis.
In the GT4 category, Venture Engineering narrowly defeated Samantha Tan Racing after a late-race fuel pressure issue caused the latter team to lose a 90-second lead. The Venture squad’s No. 421 Mercedes-AMG GT4, driven by Neville Jones, Christopher Jones, Matthew George, and Owen Hizzey, finished just 1.011 seconds ahead of the No. 428 BMW M4 GT4, piloted by Samantha Tan, Neil Verhagen, Jon Miller, Pippa Mann, and Fabian Duffieux.
The BMW team had managed to recover from a five-lap deficit caused by a punctured intercooler but lost their advantage due to fuel pressure problems. The victory marked the first series win for Venture Engineering. The No. 428 BMW was subsequently penalized five seconds for a Code 60 violation, finishing 6.011 seconds behind the winners.
The class podium was rounded out by the No. 424 Lionspeed GP Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, driven by Jose Garcia, Dennis Bohn, Patrick Kolb, and Daniel Miller.
