Polk State College will observe Veterans Day by closing its doors on Friday, November 8. However, classes scheduled for Saturday, November 9, will proceed as planned, and operations will resume normally on Monday, November 11.
On the same day as the reopening, Polk State will kick off priority registration for the Spring 2025 Semester. This is available for students who have completed at least half of their program requirements, as well as those enrolled in specific programs such as Honors, TRiO, Disability Services, Collegiate High Schools, and Athletics.
Open registration for all students will commence on November 13, with classes set to begin on January 6. Currently enrolled students can register for their courses through the Polk Portal, while new students are encouraged to complete a free online application at polk.edu.
Even while the campus is closed on Friday, college staff will be available to monitor emails, ensuring that assistance is accessible for any urgent inquiries.
This observance of Veterans Day underscores Polk State College’s commitment to honoring service members, while also promptly facilitating the academic needs of its students. It’s an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for the upcoming semester and take advantage of the registration timeline.
In summary, Polk State College will be closed on November 8 for Veterans Day but will resume normal operations on November 11, coinciding with the start of priority registration for Spring 2025.
