Four men, including suspended senior police officers, faced the Suva Magistrates Court today as they sought bail related to allegations of illegal importation and possession of methamphetamine. The individuals involved are Sevuloni Lubi, Lote Lewaivuna, Eroni Bati, and Alipate Matadigo.

During the proceedings, the prosecution opposed the bail applications, emphasizing the gravity of the charges against the accused. After considering the arguments from both the prosecution and the defense, Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavola decided to remand all four men in custody.

The court has scheduled a follow-up on the matter, with a ruling on the bail applications expected on the 27th of next month. This case highlights ongoing issues related to drug enforcement and accountability within law enforcement agencies, sparking further discussions about integrity in public service.
