PlayStation State of Play Unveils a Treasure Trove of Game Announcements!

Today’s State of Play was packed with a plethora of exciting announcements, including new game reveals and updates on upcoming titles, spanning over 30 minutes. For those looking to catch up, we have a comprehensive recap below, along with a stream archive.

Astro Bot is set to receive new speedrun levels and 10 Special Bots to rescue this Fall, as confirmed by Team Asobi. Meanwhile, Sucker Punch unveiled Ghost of Yōtei, introducing a new protagonist, story, and location in Japan, scheduled for release on PS5 next year.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to launch on October 31 for PS5 and PC, featuring over 10 hours of re-recorded dialogue and numerous enhancements that elevate the game’s graphical fidelity to match its sequel, Horizon Forbidden West.

Aloy will also be making a return in LEGO Horizon Adventures, launching on November 14, with special bonuses for pre-orders. The PlayStation 5 Pro was highlighted, with more titles announced that will leverage its powerful hardware features when it launches on November 7.

The new Chroma Collection for the PS5 accessories introduces three vibrant colors for the DualSense wireless controller and console covers.

PlayStation Plus announcements included next month’s lineup of games: WWE 2K24, Dead Space, and Doki Doki Literature Club Plus will be available starting October 1. Classic titles Dino Crisis and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain will also join PlayStation Plus Premium later this year, with The Last of Us Part I being available to Plus Extra and Premium members on September 26.

The expansion for Alan Wake 2, set in a haunting new location, is coming next month along with ArcheAge Chronicles, an action RPG promising rich storytelling when it launches on PS5 next year.

EA showcased new gameplay from Dragon Age: The Veilguard, set for release on October 31. Koei Tecmo confirmed that Dynasty Warriors: Origins will arrive on January 17, 2025, featuring a new hero in Ancient China.

Hironobu Sakaguchi’s latest RPG, Fantasian Neo Dimension, is coming to PS5 on December 5. Fear the Spotlight is set for an October 22 launch, and a split-screen mode is coming in LEGO Fortnite, along with a new limited edition DualSense wireless controller featuring characters from the Fortnite universe.

PlayStation VR2 will see the arrival of Hell is Us, showcasing a unique approach to gameplay, while the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver remasters are slated for December 10.

Returning after 25 years is the Lunar Remastered Collection, launching in Spring 2025. Metro Awakening will be available on November 7, revealing the origin story of popular character Khan.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on PS5 on February 28, 2025, and Palworld is out now, allowing for multiplayer experiences in a monster-collecting adventure. Stellar Blade will add a NieR: Automata DLC, with an original soundtrack also being released today.

The Midnight Walk, a clay-crafted adventure, is coming to PS5 and PS VR2 in Spring 2025. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge DLC is now available, featuring new playable characters.

Finally, Sonic X Shadow Generations will launch on December 12 as a DLC tie-in to the upcoming film, and the open-world adventure Towers of Aghasba is set for Early Access on PS5 this November.
