Pixar and Sharks Team Up for Family Hockey Fun!

The San Jose Sharks are excited to announce a partnership with Pixar to promote the upcoming animated film Inside Out 2, set to premiere on Disney+. This collaboration will reach its peak at SAP Center in San Jose on Sunday, October 20 at 5 p.m., when the Sharks face off against the Colorado Avalanche. Families will enjoy an entertaining hockey game while experiencing the humor and emotions of Inside Out 2 in a unique way.

Prior to this game, the Sharks will host a “Girls Try Hockey For Free” event at SAP Center on Sunday, October 13 at 10 a.m. This event is aimed at girls aged 4-9, where they can learn hockey basics and take part in Girls Hockey Weekend. Participants will be taught by the Sharks Ice Coaching Staff and will receive themed gift bags from the Sharks and Inside Out 2. No prior experience is needed, and assistance will be available to ensure a fun introduction to the sport. Each participant will also receive a ticket voucher for the game on October 20.

The game on October 20 will feature:

Exclusive Sharkie and Pixar Pins: Fans can earn themed pins by participating in various concourse activities (available while supplies last).

Family Photos: A “Teal Carpet” photo opportunity will be available with hockey sticks representing each of the nine Emotions from Inside Out 2, and guests may encounter the Sharks mascot, Sharkie, and Randy Hahn, a voice actor from the film.

Family Activities: Attendees can personalize shoelaces with beads and charms inspired by the movie’s Emotions, and engage in games with chances to win prizes. One lucky fan will receive a grand prize trip to Disney’s California Adventure to meet Inside Out 2 characters, along with one night at the new Pixar-themed Pixar Place Hotel.

Special Ticket Offer: Fans can take advantage of a bundle that includes a Sharks game ticket and a Sharks Ice Open Skate voucher, applicable at any Sharks Ice location.

In-Game Specials: Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy specialized food and drink items as well as discounts on Sharks merchandise.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Pixar to bring families together through the exhilarating world of hockey and the inspiring themes of the film,” stated Heather Vaughan, Vice President of Marketing for the Sharks. “This event is not just about a game; it focuses on building community and promoting mental well-being through sports. We hope Riley’s character and the diverse range of Emotions will inspire kids to enjoy playing hockey.”

Inside Out 2 revisits the adventures of teenager Riley as her Headquarters faces unexpected changes. Longstanding Emotions Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust must navigate the arrival of new Emotions like Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment.

Hockey represents teamwork, resilience, and community spirit, values that are further amplified in Inside Out 2. The film underscores the significance of mental well-being in both sports and daily life, a message vital for children. Throughout the evening, the Sharks will spotlight the nine Emotions from the movie with engaging activities, and fans will also have the chance to meet Randy Hahn.

Join us for an exciting and inspiring evening that highlights the importance of supporting youth in sports and mental well-being. Tickets are available now, so don’t miss out on this special opportunity to experience hockey like never before.
