The Flood Watch in the Pittsburgh area has been lifted, providing some relief to residents, although intermittent showers are expected to persist overnight. Meanwhile, a Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for portions of Lawrence and Butler counties until 11:15 p.m.
As of midday, conditions have stabilized momentarily, but meteorologists are warning of anticipated heavy rain and storms later today. The most significant risk for severe weather is projected between 3-6 p.m., with potential threats including substantial rainfall, damaging winds, hail, and the possibility of isolated tornadoes due to the interaction of storms with a warm front in the region.
While the severe storm threat is expected to diminish by evening, the area could experience further heavy rain tonight, accumulating an additional 1 to 2 inches in total rainfall. A Flood Watch continues for the Pittsburgh-Greensburg areas, highlighting ongoing concerns for localized flooding.
Looking ahead, cloud cover and sporadic rain are anticipated to linger into Thursday, with temperatures dropping considerably, remaining in the 50s for the next couple of days. However, a brighter outlook is in sight, as temperatures could rise closer to 70 degrees by Memorial Day weekend, with predominantly dry conditions forecasted.
