Philadelphia Arena Set to Unveil New Name and Tech-Driven Fan Experience!

Comcast Spectacor and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment have announced that starting September 1, 2025, the arena currently housing the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers and NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers will undergo a significant name change to Xfinity Mobile Arena. This new partnership, which will last through the 2030-2031 season, is set to enhance the experience for fans with cutting-edge technology and connectivity.

As one of the fastest-growing wireless services in the United States, Xfinity Mobile aims to create a unique and connected experience for attendees at the arena. Xfinity Mobile customers will benefit from a high-speed WiFi network powered by Comcast, allowing them to share experiences and stay connected from the tailgate to their seats. Steve Croney, Chief Operating Officer of Comcast, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that Philadelphia’s passionate fan base aligns well with the Xfinity Mobile brand.

The venue itself has a rich history, having opened in 1996 and since hosting numerous significant sports and entertainment events. The renovation completed last year involved a multi-year investment of over $400 million, which transformed various aspects of the arena including technology, seating, and overall fan experience. The arena is recognized globally as a premier venue, consistently welcoming approximately 2.5 million guests annually for a variety of events.

Tad Brown, CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers, highlighted the collaboration as a pivotal step towards enhancing the home court advantage in South Philadelphia, emphasizing their commitment to leveraging new technologies for creating memorable experiences.

The Xfinity Mobile partnership will be accompanied by new signage set to be unveiled soon after the commencement date. This arrangement not only encompasses exterior branding and digital signage but also includes hospitality and official partnerships with both the Flyers and 76ers.

Overall, this change promises to further elevate the fan experience at a venue known for hosting iconic events ranging from NCAA Championships to internationally acclaimed musical tours, positioning the arena on the forefront of sports and entertainment in Philadelphia.
