As the third quarter commenced, Sobey made his presence felt with a quick score, but Pepper responded effectively, bringing the game to an even 58-58. Both teams continued to trade baskets, with Windler’s second-chance scoring keeping Perth in the hunt. By the end of the third, the Wildcats remained close at 77-75, with donations to Lifeline WA escalating to $6,000 due to successful free throws.
In the final frame, things intensified as Sunday Dech’s three-pointer gave the Wildcats a one-point lead. A tense back-and-forth ensued, but crucial plays from Pepper and Lual-Acuil Jr, along with a vital three-pointer from Jesse Wagstaff, allowed Perth to build a seven-point advantage with three minutes left. Windler’s free throws raised the donation tally to $7,500 for Lifeline WA, and as the clock wound down, the Wildcats successfully maintained their lead.
