More than 830,000 Peloton Bike+ units have been subject to a recall due to seat post defects that pose a risk of falls and injuries, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on Thursday. This recall impacts models designated as PL02 with serial numbers starting with the letter “T,” which were sold between January 2020 and April 2025.
The recall was initiated after Peloton received reports of the seat post breaking and detaching while the bikes were in use. Two individuals reported injuries resulting from these incidents.
Approximately 833,000 bikes are included in the recall, highlighting a significant potential safety risk for users. The affected bikes measure 4 feet long and 2 feet wide, featuring an adjustable seat and handlebars. They were available for purchase at Peloton stores, Dick’s Sporting Goods nationwide, as well as online at various retailers including onepeloton.com, ebay.com, Amazon.com, and Dickssportinggoods.com, with a retail price of around $2,495.
Peloton has urged customers to cease using the recalled bikes immediately. The company is providing a free seat post replacement and a repair kit that can be self-installed, ensuring users can continue their fitness routines safely.
