Patriots Hope Stevenson and Boutte Return to Spark Offense Against Bengals

The New England Patriots are optimistic as they prepare to welcome back key offensive players in their upcoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. Coach Mike Vrabel confirmed that linebacker Jahlani Tavai is the only player with an injury designation, as he will be absent due to personal reasons.

Rhamondre Stevenson and Kayshon Boutte are both expected to return to action, providing a much-needed boost to the Patriots’ offense. Stevenson, who has been sidelined for the last three games with a toe injury, showed promising signs during practice this week, leading Vrabel to express confidence in his potential participation in the game. The real question remains how many touches Stevenson will receive upon his return, especially after TreVeyon Henderson’s impressive performance in his absence, where he accumulated 330 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

Boutte, recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during New England’s Week 9 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, has also been a vital asset for the Patriots. In the three games prior to his injury, he recorded 223 receiving yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability as a significant deep threat for quarterback Drake Maye. Despite missing the last two games, Boutte still holds the team’s second-most receiving yards with 431, trailing only Stefon Diggs, who has 659. His capability to make big plays is highlighted by his average of 18.7 yards per catch and nine plays of 20 yards or more throughout the season.

The timing of their return is particularly opportune as the Patriots face a Bengals team struggling defensively, having the chance to make history by allowing 27 points or more for the tenth consecutive game.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET on CBS, and both Stevenson and Boutte’s recoveries could be pivotal for the Patriots as they aim to capitalize on their opponent’s vulnerabilities. Their return not only restores some depth to the Patriots’ lineup but also brings hope for a rejuvenated performance on the offensive front.
