Pat McAfee to Free-Stream College GameDay for Notre Dame vs Pitt Amid Disney-YouTube TV Dispute

For the third consecutive Saturday, popular ESPN personality Pat McAfee will stream Week 12’s ESPN College GameDay live on his personal X/Twitter account, @PatMcAfeeShow. This announcement comes amid an ongoing carriage dispute between Disney and YouTube TV that has left subscribers without access to Disney networks, including ABC and the ESPN family of channels.

In his show, The Pat McAfee Show, which is available on both ESPN and YouTube, McAfee expressed his desire to assist fans who are missing out on the games they love. “There is a dispute going on between two parties and there are a lot of people missing ball,” he stated on Friday. He reassured his audience that tomorrow’s GameDay would be available for free on his X/Twitter account. McAfee thanked ESPN executives for supporting this initiative, emphasizing its importance for fans and the greater football community.

This Saturday’s College GameDay will air live from the University of Pittsburgh at 9 a.m. ET, in anticipation of the Top 25 non-conference clash between No. 9 Notre Dame and No. 22 Pitt, which is scheduled for noon ET on ABC.

The ongoing dispute has caused significant disruptions for YouTube TV customers, especially those wanting to watch SEC football. Disney’s CFO Hugh Johnston conveyed that the company is prepared to extend the negotiations as long as necessary, indicating that their commitment to reaching a fair agreement remains firm. Disney CEO Bob Iger emphasized that the deal being proposed to YouTube TV is competitive based on agreements with other distributors.

As the blackout continues, McAfee’s live stream serves as a beacon for fans craving college football content during this challenging time. With the promise of a vibrant atmosphere in Pittsburgh, the initiative showcases the willingness of individuals to step up and unify fans amidst industry disputes.
