PASADENA, California – In honor of Veterans Day, Pasadena City Hall and several City services will be closed on Monday, November 11. This observance is a tribute to the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Residents are encouraged to attend a special Veterans Day ceremony at Pasadena City Hall, located at 100 N. Garfield Ave., starting at 10:00 a.m.
While City Hall will be closed, the Pasadena Police and Fire Departments will maintain staff for all emergency services, including patrol, jail, fire, and paramedic operations. Residents are reminded to report any suspicious activities to the Pasadena Police at (626) 744-4241, and for emergencies, they should call 9-1-1.
For power emergencies, locals can contact Pasadena’s Water and Power (PWP) Department at (626) 744-4673, and for water-related issues, they should call (626) 744-4138. Although the PWP’s Customer Service Call Center will be closed, customers can still manage their accounts and make payments by phone or online.
Additionally, the City Service Center will be closed on November 11 but will resume normal hours on Tuesday, November 12. Residents can still access services online or by phone. Trash and recycling collections will occur as scheduled on Veterans Day, including bulky item pickups.
Public transportation services, such as Pasadena Transit and Pasadena Dial-A-Ride, will operate as usual. There will be free parking at meters, although limitations regarding overnight and restricted parking will remain enforced. Regular enforcement will resume after the holiday.
The Permit Center will be closed but many services are available online. Meanwhile, all Pasadena Public Library branches will be closed on November 10 and 11, returning to regular hours on the 12th. Parks will remain open for recreational use, albeit without site reservations on this holiday.
This year’s Veterans Day not only serves to honor those who have served but also offers the community an opportunity to reflect and gather in celebration. It is a reminder of the sacrifices made for freedom and a chance for residents to engage in meaningful ceremonies and activities.
