The leaked images circulated on social media indicate that more than 60 applications were submitted, detailing names, submission dates, times, and methods, which include both hand-delivery and email submissions.
Among the prominent names featured in the document are Foreign Affairs Minister Sakiasi Ditoka, acting Attorney General Siromi Turaga, and Minister Maciu Nalusima. Other notable individuals listed include Manoa Kamikamica, PAP Secretary-General Sila Balawa, Ro Filipe Tuisawau, Alitia Bainivalu, Esrom Immanuel, and Charan Jeath Singh. In response to the leak, PAP Secretary-General Sila Balawa released a statement stressing that the candidate application and selection process is a confidential matter governed by the party’s constitution. Balawa confirmed that the party has initiated internal procedures to identify the source of the leak and those responsible for the disclosure. The emphasis on confidentiality and internal governance underscores the PAP’s commitment to maintaining trust and unity as they prepare for the upcoming election. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of privacy within political processes and the potential impact of leaks on party integrity.
