The Deputy Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), Esala Nayasi, met with Palau’s Minister of State, Gustav Aitaro, along with members of the National Planning Committee on Wednesday. The purpose of the meeting was to strategize for the forthcoming 55th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (55PIFLM), scheduled to occur in Koror from August 30 to September 4, 2026.
The discussions centered around the preparations for this pivotal event, highlighting Palau’s goals encapsulated in the theme “BELAU – Building Economies: Life. Action. Unity.” The aim is to enhance cooperation between the Palauan government and the PIF Secretariat, ensuring that the meeting not only addresses vital regional challenges but also embodies unity and shared aspirations within the Blue Pacific community.
