Pakistan’s captain Farhan Yousaf has shown great optimism regarding his team’s readiness for their upcoming Super Sixes match against New Zealand in the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2026. This highly anticipated game will take place at the Harare Sports Club on Tuesday.

The two-time champions secured their place in the Super Sixes by finishing second in Group C, having achieved convincing victories over Zimbabwe and Scotland, despite a tough loss to England in their opening match. Under the tournament’s format, Pakistan enters this stage with two points, and they have two matches to play in their quest to qualify for the semi-finals.

Yousaf expressed pride in his team’s preparations, highlighting a recent scenario-based practice match that allowed the players to gain valuable match experience. He emphasized the significance of the Super Sixes phase and assured that the team is dedicated to minimizing errors as they strive for success.

“Our opening fixture in the Super Six stage is against New Zealand, and our preparations have been very encouraging. The players understand the crucial nature of this phase, and they are committed to working hard,” Yousaf stated. He also praised his teammates for their collective effort, specifically mentioning Ali Raza’s impact on the bowling unit, which has raised the team’s overall performance.

Pakistan’s squad for the tournament includes a talented mix of players, among them Usman Khan (vice-captain), Ahmed Hussain, Ali Hasan Baloch, and Hamza Zahoor, with several non-traveling reserves ready to step in if needed.

As the team looks ahead to their match against New Zealand, followed by a highly anticipated clash against arch-rivals India in Bulawayo on February 1, the atmosphere is one of hopeful determination. Pakistan aims to harness their momentum and secure a spot in the semi-finals, showcasing the strength and resilience of youth cricket.
