Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha expressed optimism about his team’s prospects in the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. Speaking to reporters in Dhaka just before the series opener, he emphasized that his players are free from pressure and prepared to play assertively.
Salman acknowledged the formidable nature of the Bangladesh team, noting their ability to challenge opponents both at home and abroad. “They are a competitive team, but we are geared up to play aggressive cricket,” he said. His experience in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has given him insight into the local conditions, which he believes will benefit the team.
The preparations for the matches included a training camp in Karachi, where the team practiced on pitches designed to mirror the conditions they will encounter in Dhaka. “Understanding the conditions is key. We have adapted our game to these pitches and match situations. Our BPL experience provides us with an advantage,” he explained.
Salman praised key players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, calling them world-class athletes who have made significant contributions to Pakistan’s cricketing success. He believes the current squad has a balanced mix of talent suited for aggressive T20 play. “Babar and Rizwan have served Pakistan incredibly well, and we are focused on executing our game plan without pressure in this series,” he concluded.
