GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers have released their final injury report ahead of their Thanksgiving Day match against the Detroit Lions, revealing a mix of challenges and some positive updates for the team.
Unfortunately, four players have been ruled out for the upcoming game: Lukas Van Ness (foot), Karl Brooks (ankle), Savion Williams (foot), and Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder). Van Ness made a brief appearance against the Minnesota Vikings but was limited to just six snaps. Meanwhile, Reed is currently on injured reserve, although he has been designated to return after opening his three-week practice window on November 21.
The outlook for four other players remains uncertain as they are listed as questionable to play. These include Matthew Golden (wrist), Quay Walker (neck), Keisean Nixon (neck), and Nate Hobbs. Nixon sustained a neck stinger during the Vikings game after a collision and has experienced a gradual recovery, progressing from a non-participant to a limited participant in practice. Walker missed the previous game due to a neck stinger but participated in practice this week, albeit in a limited capacity. Golden missed the last game due to shoulder and wrist injuries but has also seen limited practice. Hobbs, who has been out for the last three games due to an MCL sprain, returned to practice for the first time this week.
On a more positive note, running back Josh Jacobs has been cleared to play after missing the Vikings game, as there was no game status issued for him regarding his knee injury. Other players who are dealing with injuries but are expected to continue playing include Jordan Love (shoulder), Javon Bullard (ankle), Edgerrin Cooper (foot/shoulder), Zach Tom (back), Dontavyion Wicks (calf), Romeo Doubs (wrist), and Christian Watson (knee).
With this mix of injury updates, the Packers will be looking to overcome challenges as they prepare to face the Lions on a significant day of football. As the team rallies together, there is hope that those questionable can make a comeback and contribute to a successful outing.
