Pac-12 and CBS Sports Forge New Era with Game-Changing Partnership

The Pac-12 Conference has announced an extension of its partnership with CBS Sports, which is set to commence with the 2025 football season and continue through the 2030-31 season. This partnership comes as the conference undergoes a significant transformation, preparing for the debut of the new Pac-12 in the 2026-27 season.

Key highlights of the renewed partnership include the broadcasting of the annual football championship and men’s basketball tournament championship games on CBS, in addition to being streamed live on Paramount+. Each season, there will be a minimum of three regular season football games and three men’s basketball games aired on CBS and Paramount+. Additional games will be available on CBS Sports Network, with more details to be provided in the future.

Since the announcement of its new structure, the Pac-12 has positioned itself as a top-tier conference in both football and basketball. Over the past four years, five of its seven football programs have been ranked in the College Football Playoff (CFP) Top 25, and six programs have made it to the Associated Press (AP) Top 25, showcasing their competitive strength.

In men’s basketball, the Pac-12 has secured the fourth-best average NET ranking among all conferences over the last five seasons. Notably, seven of its eight programs have appeared in the NCAA Men’s Tournament since 2021, including two reaching the National Championship game.

Pac-12 Commissioner Teresa Gould expressed gratitude towards CBS Sports for their shared vision and commitment to building the new Pac-12. Dan Weinberg, Executive Vice President at CBS Sports, emphasized the significance of this partnership in enhancing their college sports programming and expanding the conference’s visibility and influence.

As the Pac-12 continues its transformation, further media partnerships are expected to be announced, enhancing the conference’s competitive landscape and engagement with fans. The addition of at least one more football-playing, all-sports member by the 2026-27 season will also contribute to the conference’s growth.

This strategic partnership and the promising developments surrounding the new Pac-12 signal a vibrant future for college sports within the conference, underlining its ambition to remain competitive on both national and conference levels.
