The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has informed the public that the final asphalting work on the Rewa Bridge will take place overnight, particularly affecting the Nausori-bound lane. This essential work is set to begin at 8:00 PM tonight and is anticipated to wrap up by 5:00 AM tomorrow, marking the completion of the last sections of this significant project.

During the asphalting process, both lanes leading toward Nausori will be closed between the Lelean Roundabout and the Wainibokasi Roundabout to ensure the safe operation of construction machinery. In a positive note for commuters, the lanes heading toward Suva will remain open, ensuring a steady traffic flow for those traveling in that direction.

Motorists in the area are urged to pay attention to temporary road signage and to follow the guidance of traffic controllers, which is crucial for maintaining the safety of both road users and the workers involved in these maintenance efforts. The FRA has also pointed out that the asphalting activities are contingent on weather conditions and may be postponed if needed.

The authority has expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation during these vital road upgrades, underlining the long-term benefits these enhancements will bring to the infrastructure and overall safety of the region. These improvements are expected to enhance travel efficiency and safety, promoting a better driving experience for all road users.
