The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced that final asphalting works on the Rewa Bridge will take place overnight, affecting the Nausori-bound lane. The work is scheduled to commence at 8:00 PM tonight and conclude by 5:00 AM tomorrow, aimed at completing the last sections of the project.

During this period, both lanes heading toward Nausori will be closed between the Lelean Roundabout and the Wainibokasi Roundabout to facilitate safe operations for construction machinery. However, traffic heading towards Suva will remain unaffected, as the Suva-bound lanes will continue to operate, allowing for uninterrupted traffic flow.

Motorists in the vicinity are advised to adhere to all temporary road signage and follow the directions of traffic controllers to ensure the safety of both road users and workers involved in the maintenance efforts. The FRA has highlighted that these asphalting activities are weather-dependent and may be postponed should adverse conditions arise.

The authority expressed its gratitude to the public for their patience and cooperation while the crucial road upgrades are being executed, emphasizing the long-term benefits these improvements will bring to the infrastructure and safety of the region.
