Temperatures are set to drop as a cold front moves through Central Florida on Thursday morning, bringing a shift in weather conditions for the region. Meteorologist Kassandra Crimi reports that morning temperatures will plummet into the 50s by around 9 a.m., creating a noticeable chill in the air.
The day is expected to transition into a mostly sunny and breezy afternoon, with highs reaching the low 70s. However, as night falls and Halloween approaches, Crimi noted that temperatures will continue to decrease, potentially dipping into the 40s and 50s. Orlando is projected to experience a low of 51 degrees, marking one of the coolest Halloweens in over three decades. The record for the coolest Halloween was set in 1993 with a high of just 66 degrees.
While it is unlikely that Friday will surpass that record, the high temperature for the metro area is expected to hover around 70 degrees, which could pose a brisk experience for trick-or-treaters in the evening.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday morning is predicted to greet residents with chilly temperatures as well, once again showing 40s and low 50s across the Channel 9 viewing area. However, the temperature is expected to rise as the weekend progresses, with highs returning to the mid and upper 70s, offering a pleasant break from the recent cool snap.
Central Florida residents and visitors alike can look forward to dressing warmly for Halloween while enjoying the sunny, warmer weather that follows.
