As of Saturday, the competition has spanned 15 official days. Team USA added 11 medals on Saturday, bringing their total to 122, which is 32 more than the second-place finisher, China.
Although China’s overall medal total is significantly lower, they have overtaken Team USA in the gold medal count, currently leading 39 to 38 ahead of the final day. In addition to their 38 golds, American athletes have secured 42 silver and 42 bronze medals.
Great Britain ranks third in the medal tally with 63 medals, while France follows closely behind with 62 medals. Australia rounds out the top three for gold medals with 18, well behind both the United States and China.
