Ole Miss concluded their regular season on a high note, clinching a crucial series victory against Auburn, winning two out of three games. This accomplishment marked another addition to their impressive record, as they achieved a winning record in SEC play for the first time since 2021, finishing with a 16-14 record in the conference.
Highlights from the series included standout performances by Will Furniss and Judd Utermark, who together batted an impressive .517, accumulating 15 hits out of 29 at-bats, along with three home runs, 12 RBIs, and 12 runs scored. This resurgence helped propel the Rebels to a total of five SEC series wins this season, surpassing their combined total from the past two years, an accomplishment they haven’t seen since 2021.
In terms of overall performance, this season saw Ole Miss surpass the 30-win mark for the first time since 2022, marking the 21st time that head coach Mike Bianco has achieved this milestone. The Rebels also distinguished themselves nationally, being one of only two Division I teams with 16 or more Quad 1 victories in 2025 and ranking among the top teams for Quad 1 game appearances.
Ranked in multiple polls, Ole Miss secured positions of No. 16 in the Baseball America poll, No. 17 in the D1Baseball poll, and No. 20 in the USA Today/Coaches poll. Notably, they achieved a significant milestone by hitting their 100th home run as a team, just six shy of the program record of 108 set in 2022.
Several players also had noteworthy individual achievements: Luke Hill is currently boasting a 39-game on-base streak, ranking in the top ten in several SEC categories including steals and on-base percentage. Austin Fawley has emerged as a prolific power hitter, smashing home runs in 10 of his last 20 games and setting a record for catchers in the Mike Bianco era.
Defensively, Hudson Calhoun has been a force on the mound, striking out half of the batters he’s faced recently. The team as a whole has drawn the second-most walks in the SEC, showcasing their offensive capabilities.
Additionally, the Rebels have recorded 68 stolen bases this season, the highest number since 2019, with newcomer Hayden Federico close to tying the Ole Miss freshman single-season record. This combination of potent offense and solid pitching illustrates that Ole Miss is both competitive and resilient as they head into the SEC Tournament.
With momentum on their side and several key players in standout form, Ole Miss aims to carry this energy into the postseason, signaling a hopeful outlook for the team’s future endeavors.
