NEW ORLEANS – Ole Miss football has made headlines not only for their impressive performance but also for the lucrative benefits reaped by their coaching staff as a result of their success in the College Football Playoff (CFP).

On January 1, 2026, Ole Miss faced off against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl at the Caesars Superdome, securing a thrilling victory with a score of 39-34, thus advancing to the semifinals of the playoffs.

Coach Pete Golding has a contract laden with incentives linked to the team’s achievements. Following the Rebels’ triumph over Georgia, Golding will receive a bonus of $500,000. If the team continues its winning streak and triumphs over Miami in the upcoming Fiesta Bowl, his bonus will escalate to $750,000. Should Ole Miss clinch the national championship, Golding stands to earn a monumental bonus of $1 million.

Meanwhile, Lane Kiffin, who recently transitioned from Ole Miss to LSU, also has bonuses tied to the Rebels’ success. Kiffin’s former contract is being honored by LSU, allowing him to receive the same bonuses he would have earned at Ole Miss. As a result of the victory, Kiffin has already secured a bonus of $250,000, with the potential for that amount to increase if Ole Miss continues to perform well in the CFP.

The remarkable journey of Ole Miss in the playoffs continues to create buzz not only among fans and players but also within the coaching ranks, reinforcing the relationship between success on the field and financial rewards off it.
