Missing 12-year-old Ryan “RJ” Davis has been located safe and sound by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), marking a successful end to a concerning search. The announcement was made via a Facebook post on Sunday, January 11, confirming that Davis was found in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

The OSBI expressed gratitude towards local law enforcement and search groups, including the United Cajun Navy, which played a vital role in the recovery. They reported that upon being found, RJ was taken to a hotel for processing before being assessed at a hospital, where it was confirmed he appeared physically unharmed.

RJ had been reported missing since January 2, spurring an extensive search operation covering a large rural area from Cement to Chickasha, situated about an hour’s drive from Oklahoma City. Prior to his discovery, authorities had reason to believe he was alive. He was last seen in the vicinity of the Chickasha Quality Inn.

As the investigation unfolds, RJ’s mother, Kimberly Kay Cole, and stepfather, George Franklin Cole Jr., have been arrested on suspicion of child abuse and are currently in custody at the Caddo County Jail in Anadarko. While it’s unclear if their charges are directly linked to RJ’s disappearance, they were taken into custody following interviews and evidence collected from search warrants.

This case highlights the dedication of community and law enforcement partners in reunifying families and showcases the importance of vigilance and cooperation in such serious matters. Further updates from the OSBI are anticipated as more information becomes available.
