George Clooney has shared an exciting update regarding the much-anticipated “Ocean’s 14,” which is currently in development at Warner Bros. Pictures. While promoting his project “Jay Kelly” during the festival circuit in October, Clooney disclosed that the film has successfully secured its budget approval and is set to begin shooting in mid-summer 2026.

In a recent interview with Variety, Clooney highlighted that the primary inspiration for “Ocean’s 14” will come from the 1979 dramedy “Going in Style,” which follows three elderly men on a bank heist. He emphasized that this new installation is not merely a nostalgic throwback but instead aims to explore a compelling narrative about heists in the later stages of life. Clooney explained, “There was something about the idea that we’re too old to do what we used to do, but we’re still smart enough to know how to get away with something that just appeals to me. They’ve lost a step, and they need to find a way to work around their limitations.”

At 64 years old, Clooney last appeared in an “Ocean’s” film nearly two decades ago. Fans can look forward to seeing several familiar faces returning from previous films, including Matt Damon as Linus Caldwell, Brad Pitt as Rusty Ryan, Julia Roberts as Tess Ocean, Don Cheadle as Basher Tarr, and Andy Garcia as Terry Benedict. However, a director has not yet been confirmed for this exciting project.

This new direction for “Ocean’s 14” demonstrates Clooney’s desire to combine humor and poignancy, crafting a story that resonates with both older audiences and fans of the franchise alike. As the project progresses, anticipation builds for what promises to be a unique take on the heist genre.
