OCEANIA Hospitals has officially appointed David Qumivutia as its new chief executive officer, a role he has been fulfilling in an acting capacity since August of last year. Mr. Qumivutia, who began his career at Oceania Hospitals as a Pathology Manager in April 2000, has consistently demonstrated strong leadership in various roles, including General Manager, Director of Business Development, and Chief Operations Officer.

The hospital acknowledged Mr. Qumivutia’s significant contributions, emphasizing his invaluable insights and expertise acquired through extensive experience in both private and public health sectors. In a statement shared on its social media platforms, Oceania Hospitals highlighted that his commitment to excellence and maintaining high standards would enhance operational efficiency.

“With over 25 years of proven success in the healthcare industry and a passion for innovation, sustainability, and patient care, David is poised to guide Oceania Hospitals into a promising new era of growth and transformation,” the statement read.

Mr. Qumivutia’s academic credentials further bolster his leadership capabilities; he holds a Master of Business Administration and a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of the South Pacific, along with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Tasmania and a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology from the Fiji School of Medicine. His official appointment as CEO took effect on January 28 of this year.

With Qumivutia at the helm, the hospital is expected to embrace new opportunities and continue evolving in the ever-changing healthcare landscape, demonstrating a commitment to providing superior patient care and innovative health services.
