Speculation about an Oasis reunion has intensified ahead of the Reading Festival, where the iconic Britpop band last headlined 24 years ago. Reports suggest that Liam and Noel Gallagher have reconciled after a 15-year feud and are preparing to announce a series of concerts in 2025. Among the proposed events are a 10-night engagement at Wembley Stadium and performances at Heaton Park in Manchester.
The rumors were initially reported by The Times U.K., which cited “industry insiders” confirming a potential reunion announcement could happen as soon as Tuesday. The news spread rapidly on social media, ultimately gaining Liam Gallagher’s attention. He humorously responded to fans’ concerns on Twitter, saying “News to me” and “I know nothing.”
As the excitement built, Liam tweeted further hints that fueled the speculation. In response to a fan who expressed anxiety about Tuesday’s announcement, he said, “You’re scared how do you think I feel.” When another fan criticized the choice of Heaton Park as a venue, he quipped, “See you down the front you big fanny.”
On Sunday morning, when asked about the tour announcements, Gallagher said they would come “Nxt Friday,” and when queried about his 2025 plans, he jokingly stated, “World domination.” He also expressed disdain toward critics with a series of “SHUTUP” tweets.
Noel Gallagher has remained silent regarding the reunion discussions. However, on Sunday afternoon, a tweet from the band hinted at something significant, stating, “27.08.24, 8am.”
Past reunion rumors have often ended in disappointment for fans, but the current buzz coincides with the 30th anniversary of Oasis’s debut album, Definitely, Maybe, which was reissued earlier this year. In June, Noel took a less enthusiastic stance on the idea of a reunion, expressing his frustration and suggesting that if Liam were serious about reuniting, he would need to reach out first to make it happen.
