Oasis Reunion Rumors Heat Up: Is Wembley Next?

Speculation regarding an Oasis reunion has intensified this week, fueled by Liam Gallagher’s social media activity over the weekend. The timing coincides with the Reading Festival, where the iconic Britpop band headlined back in 2000, exactly 24 years ago.

Reports suggest that Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher have resolved their 15-year feud and may soon announce a series of concerts in the U.K. for 2025. This includes plans for a 10-night residency at Wembley Stadium, exceeding Taylor Swift’s record of eight concerts, along with shows in Manchester’s Heaton Park.

The Times U.K. was among the first to circulate these rumors, claiming that industry insiders have indicated an imminent reunion for the band, their first live performance since August 2009, potentially being unveiled as soon as Tuesday. The speculation captured the attention of fans on social media, prompting Liam to respond with, “News to me” and “I know nothing.”

As the day went on, Liam seemed to embrace the speculation, adding to the excitement. When a fan expressed anxiety about the potential announcement, he replied, “Your scared how do you think I feel.” In another exchange, when a fan criticized Heaton Park as a venue, Liam cheekily retorted, “See you down the front you big fanny.”

His engagement continued into Sunday morning; when queried about the announcement of tour dates, he teased, “Nxt Friday.” He also humorously remarked on his aspirations for 2025, stating, “World domination.”

Liam’s tweets also included a dismissive comment regarding the term “former,” indicating his ongoing connection to the band. He expressed frustration towards skeptics, using phrases like “SHUTUP” and “Your attitude stinks.”

While Liam is vocal about the potential reunion, Noel has remained quiet on the matter. The current wave of speculation aligns with the 30th anniversary of the band’s debut album, Definitely, Maybe, which recently saw a reissue and a tour focused on Liam earlier this year.

In a June 2023 interview, Noel expressed his reluctance regarding a reunion, stating, “I’ve accepted now that this is never gonna go away.” He mentioned he was awaiting a call from Liam to discuss a possible reunion, which thus far has not happened.
