The University of Notre Dame football team is set to renew its collaboration with Under Armour in 2024 for the ‘Cleats For A Cause’ campaign, aimed at supporting five local charities.

During the team’s walk from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart to Notre Dame Stadium on September 21, 2024, ahead of the Miami-Ohio game, each football player will don special-edition Under Armour Slip Speed shoes. An online auction for these shoes will take place before and after the game, alongside additional custom cleats inspired by select student-athletes that will also be available for bidding.

Graduate linebacker Jack Kiser, who chairs the player committee for the initiative, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “Our team is passionate about this initiative, and throughout the offseason and years prior, we have built deep relationships with these charities. After the success of Cleats For a Cause in 2022, it means a lot to us to use our platform to bring awareness and financial support to these organizations doing important work in the community.”

The ‘Cleats For A Cause’ program will benefit the South Bend Center for the Homeless, the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County, the Casie Center (Child Abuse Services Investigation & Education), Cultivate Food Rescue, and the Logan Center. Proceeds from the auction will be shared equally among the five charities, which will each be represented by an equal number of shoes across the team.

Throughout the offseason, Notre Dame football players have dedicated significant time to volunteer with and support the five local charities involved in this initiative.

The custom shoes and cleats have been designed by Jerry Barca, a freshman at Notre Dame.

Additional details about the ‘Cleats For A Cause’ initiative will be announced in the coming weeks.
