Notre Dame Football’s ‘Cleats For A Cause’ Kicks Off Charity Auction!

The University of Notre Dame football program will collaborate with Under Armour once again in 2024 for the ‘Cleats For A Cause’ initiative, aimed at supporting five local charities.

As part of this initiative, each student-athlete will don special edition Under Armour Slip Speed shoes during the procession from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart to Notre Dame Stadium on September 21, 2024, for the Miami-Ohio game. An online auction for these shoes will be held both before and after the game. Additionally, unique cleats inspired by select Notre Dame football players will also be available for auction.

Jack Kiser, the initiative’s player committee chairman and graduate linebacker, expressed enthusiasm for the program, stating, “Our team is passionate about this initiative, and throughout the offseason and years prior, we have built deep relationships with these charities. After the success of Cleats For a Cause in 2022, it means a lot to us to use our platform to bring awareness and financial support to these organizations doing important work in the community.”

The ‘Cleats For A Cause’ initiative will benefit the South Bend Center for the Homeless, the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County, the Casie Center (Child Abuse Services Investigation & Education), Cultivate Food Rescue, and the Logan Center. Proceeds from the auction will be divided equally among the five charities, with each receiving representation on a certain number of shoes throughout the team roster.

Throughout the offseason, Notre Dame Football players have dedicated considerable time volunteering and working closely with each of the charities involved in this initiative.

The shoes and cleats have all been custom-painted by Jerry Barca, a freshman at Notre Dame.

Further details about the ‘Cleats For A Cause’ initiative will be announced in the coming weeks.
