The University of Notre Dame football team will once again collaborate with Under Armour in 2024 for the ‘Cleats For A Cause’ program, which aims to benefit five local charities.
During the team’s walk from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart to Notre Dame Stadium on September 21, 2024, ahead of the game against Miami-Ohio, each student-athlete will don special edition Under Armour Slip Speed shoes. An online auction for these shoes will take place before and after the game. Additionally, custom cleats designed in honor of select Notre Dame football players will also be available for bidding.
“Our team is deeply committed to this initiative, and over the offseason and in previous years, we’ve fostered strong connections with these charities,” stated graduate linebacker Jack Kiser, the chairman of the initiative’s player committee. “Following the success of Cleats For A Cause in 2022, we’re excited to use our platform to raise awareness and funds for these organizations that play a vital role in our community.”
The ‘Cleats For A Cause’ initiative will support the South Bend Center for the Homeless, the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County, the Casie Center (Child Abuse Services Investigation & Education), Cultivate Food Rescue, and the Logan Center. The funds raised through the auction will be equally distributed among the five charities, with each charity represented by a similar number of shoes featured throughout the roster.
Notre Dame football student-athletes have dedicated considerable time to volunteering and collaborating with the five charities involved in the initiative during the offseason.
Each pair of shoes and cleats has been artistically designed by Jerry Barca, a Notre Dame freshman from the class of 2028.
Further details regarding the ‘Cleats For A Cause’ initiative will be shared in the upcoming weeks.
